Might be better to stay with mechanical lifters. The hydraulics are sometimes noisy due to a variety of reasons. 54 engines with a Powerglide had hydraulics, I think the lifter oil supply is tapped off the cam or main bearings.I have run both dual 2 throat carbs and several 4 bbls on a 261.In my opinion ,the dual units may work better for ya.Those Holley Webers have spotty quality so look at them closely before plunking down your money.More guys than not like them.The old Holley single bbl carbs found on Mopar and Ferd 6 cylinders, work well on a dual carb manifold also.A few guys have on low budgets has good results running one V-8 type two bbl carb on modified stock manifolds.
