Trucks weight are without any appliances on them, from the factory, cab and chassis only would be the light weight, and at one time you could register them that way with the no bed weight, then dmv wanted a bed, box or body on the truck for weight fee purposes, according to the registration for my 61 4000 series GMC it is in the 9000# range for a lite weight.
