Only 53 and 54 PG car rear gears were 3.55
The lowest gear ratio available for torque tubes.
Earlier PG and all stick used to have 3.73 or 4.11
The car torque tube and gears will only interchange with other 40s and 50s torque tube cars.
40s and 50s Truck rear housings are round, cars are oval.
The car 3.55 ring and pinion will not fit the truck carrier, but I believe those may be swapped.
The easiest way to upgrade the 3100 truck rear with 3.55 gears and keeping the original torque tube is going with the aftermarket r&p kit.
