I'm not familiar with your particular application but often parts that are made to "fit" several different years will have extra bits & pieces, some that will fit one year but not another. The idea being you don't use what doesn't work on your vehicle. The tab might work OK on a 47. ohwell If the rest of the ring is correct for your truck just remove the tab & put it on.
