Original GM welting from the 41-46 era had no bead. If you are painting fenders black and body another color, then beaded welting will be fine, but in my opinion a light colored one-tone truck just looks awful with a black bead defining the fenders. It's too new looking and is obviously a reworked truck. JM2Cents
