I have the same issue. My 59 is put back together and the panels fit great. The hood opens and closes perfect as well. However, with the hood springs on and MAN ARE THEY REAL TOUGH to get on, the hood also pops up in the rear and will not sit level. I got a new set of springs and same deal. Can the springs alone be the issue?
