#40130 11/07/2003 3:24 AM | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 | An old-timer broke down in front of our house in a short AD Chevy bus which he converted to a camper. He had a 261 with a PCV valve in the valve cover and no breather tube. I wasn't sure if it was stock but it seemed like a good idea.
He broke down because of a busted fuel pump which he dismantled and repaired with my tools. A check valve in the new fuel pump had popped loose. I was really impressed. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
