I'm replacing the original carb (1-barrel Rochester on 53 Chevy 216) with a rebuilt. Vendor says no gaskets are needed; carb just sits on insulator and there's also no gasket between insulator and manifold.
1. Is that correct?
2. Anybody have a torque setting for tightening down the carb on the manifold studs? Don't want to crack the insulator.
3. What should I use on the threads for fuel and vacuum line fittings to seal?
