Im wondering what the difference between a 54 235 out of a car and a 54 235 out of a truck is. When I bought my 52 i was told by the person that i purchased it off of (a reliable source) that the previous owner who was working on restoring the truck before having to sell it, installed a "rebuilt" 235 that was originally from a 1954 chevy car (unsure which). My question is what would the difference be between a engine out of a car and out of a truck.

Also does a powerglide tansmission automatically add 10 extra horsepower or what? Im confused on this powerglide stuff. If a powerglide is a trans then why would it be apart of the engine id number on the ledge of the distributor?

here are a few sites i ran across to id my engine (id: XXXXXXXT54Z)
