Jim Carter says it installs on the firewall or inner fender. I thought that Jim Carter's style adapter-plate bolts to the back of the beehive and then you can use u-bolts to attach the plate to a stock intake manifold (just like a standard canister filter).
Patrick has at least two mounting adapters. I used one style (incorrectly labelled in Patrick's catalog) to install a beehive to an Offenhouser dual-carb intake (that intake has a boss with threaded holes for mounting a filter - on the forward "arm" of the intake).
You might want to hear from someone who has personally mounted a beehive filter with any vendor's adapter.
