I had not thought of the "detune" carb settings. The motor was gone through about 500 miles ago by the previous owner (now deceased). As for the "too much air" I put my hand over 4/5ths of the paper cleaner and the idle smoothed out. Thanks for the suggestion...I will look into that.

Use a big enough catapult and even pigs can fly...remember nothing is impossible, impractical yes, but never impossible.
