Flying down the country road, the hurricane slings the drips into oblivion in a effort to frustrate the Man-from-Sandwich.
I once had a car with a bad front seal, and it coated the inside of the engine bay, undercarriage, and rear of the car with a thin layer of oil. This is not the case, I assume. Could it be a rear main seal? This would not provide the hard evidence that my car did. The oil would coat the inside of the bell housing, some of it escaping with the wind at road speeds, and the rest settling to the bottom of the bell housing - providing you with a "dalmation driveway" later on. Have you checked inside the bell housing? If what I think is true, there would be a greasy film(powdered with dust from your clutch) in there. There would be almost no evidence of it on your undercarriage, and tailgate. Leaky front transmission seals do this same thing (standard or auto).
