I already been getting some opinions on this matter in the "General" forum. I'll ask in here as well. My frame has been sandblasted and I was thinking about using Zero-Rust to finish it off. I've used it on cab sheet metal with no problems. When it comes to the frame, is this the way to go? After reading the ZR website, I shouldn't have any problems using it (spray or brush) on freshly sandblasted metal.
I was wire wheeling the frame and brushing ZR on it as I go along. When it was blasted, the fella told me the areas painted with ZR came off perty easy. Maybe it didn't cure long enough or maybe another problem was that maybe there was some residual oils or grease(naked to the human eye) that made it come off easier.
Last night I was painting the cross members with the ZR and it felt different going on. With the "rougher" surface from the sandblasting, I believe this stuff should still work. I'm not by any means downing ZR, but I need to get some paint on this thing soon and I bought (2) quarts a couple months ago for the frame and I'd like to use it up. My intentions are also to clear coat it afterwards with ZR clear coat. The truck is not going to be an excellent show truck but as close to it as possible.
