Dakota - I have not pulled the trigger on the carpet as yet. Been working the wiring and deciding on the gauges. One concern I have on that carpet though is that being marine grade it has a rubber backing which may trap moisture under the carpet should any get there. I will need to discuss this with the shop I select to do the seat cover. If it is not needed I will certainly get it back to Ray. Hope you are thawing out up there.
As to the louvers, the shop only has one size die and that is 3 inch. I think a tapered size from say 4 inch down to the 3 inch size shown in the picture would work well. I have my own concerns on the louvers and think the truck would look good either way. The main problem is trying to establish a reference point on the inside of the hood as the puover are punched from that side. I have an extra hood which has too many issues to use which I will use as a test case. If that does not work out well I will pass on punching this hood and get this truck done.
