I've been hauling junk cars for a couple of years now that scrap metal has been so high. I pull a 18' car hauler with a Warn 8274 double lined. I pull a lot of cars that don't have any wheels and some have the axles buried. Two things I can recommend are a good hot battery and a good bumper jack. The life of the winch is the battery and the double line helps that out and if you can get the axle out of the dirt(bumper jack) it will help the life of the battery as well. I mounted the winch as high as possible on my trailer to give the "lift" factor when pulling. Hope this helps. Btw, I've never went to get a vehicle and left without it!!
