Hi -- and welcome to The Stovebolt Forum. You will find the answer to most questions, and make some friends too. (That is if your not to picky about who you make friends with.)
Your clutch is a big heavy duty 11" clutch, and I would advise against changing it. That thing can handle all the torque you will ever want to throw at it. I just slip my truck into nuetral if I have to sit in traffic.
Sounds like your tranny has a couple of synchros out. I don't think those old 4 speed are easy to come buy these days. If you can find one it may be newer and expensive. You can get a good rebuild kit for your 4 speed from JC Whitney, or pick up a Saginaw 3 speed for around a $100 bucks. A good 5 speed out of an S/10 will run around $275. If you go the 3 speed route get the one with the 2.54:1 1st gear for the best ratios. With the 5 speed the one with the 4:1 1st gear has the best overdrive 5th. ( Now be careful cause some of the guys on this board will try to convince you to go to a 700r4 automatic and 308 gears

Don't do it. It's downright sinful.) Good Luck, and keep us posted on your progress.
