If it is like the 235 that I have, the cable comes from the the top of the throttle linkage, and goes through the hole where a cotter pin fits. At the bottom of the cable there should be a small brass piece which the cable goes through. There is a screw in the brass piece at a right angle to the cable. This screw holds the brass piece onto the cable, and provides a "bottom" to the cable. As you pull the throttle button out - the linkage will lift up, increasing your RPM's. When using the pedal, the linkage will "slide" up the cable through the cotter pin hole. I hope that I have explained it clearly. I'm sure you will get what I mean once you see a picture.
