After cleaning the distributor, I can not find the bakelite washer for the grease port. Is it necessary if you remove the spring? I assume the purpose of the spring is to act as a locking device so the grease cap can't vibrate loose. i am afraid the spring will wear on the shaft but if i dont use it and use locktite instead will it work? thanks in advance
