Don, nice pics. Say, how did your engine "knock/tap" work out. I don't remember if you ever said>....or I was off the puter for a day or two!!
Long story and getting longer. I'll write it up sometime when I get back in the mood. I actually picked it up from the shop two weeks ago, but no one there would give me the time of the day. They knew that they had screwed it up and didn't want to live up to the warranty. I was able to blow a hole in every excuse they came up with, but it still ended up costing me some more in parts. I just didn't trust them and went ahead and ordered a new set of hydraulic lifters, which I assume were installed as I took the old ones with me. They also installed new bearings, and pushrods on their dime. I understood the bearings but not the pushrods. They said the originals were bent, but couldn't explain how that could be.
Although the "boss" wasn't in when I picked it up the shop foreman wouldn't talk to me. I figure the boss was sticking it to him for the time and some parts. We loaded the engine and I didn't pay them anything. It will be another week before I know what I've ended up with. Jeeze... I really wish I would have just brought the whole thing home in pieces and reassembled it myself. Time will tell and so will I. Thanks for asking Alvin.
