Push rod cover is 6" tall, 230-250 is 4" tall. The block itself is 1-3/4" taller than the smaller CID blocks. The bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the SBC and BBC bolt pattern so the same trannies will fit it. It will have staggered motor mounts. The dipstick location is on the RH side approximately 2/3 toward the rear through 67' and further back (3/4) on the 68+ units. Several other differences to distinguish from the smaller L6 engines. Casting numbers will tell the story. There are too many to list here so post them and I or someone will help you out. | | |
