For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 191 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2004 Posts: 191 | Still fighting with Speedo in my 56 TF. Got another speedo head from a rebuilder and put it in. Won't get above 30 mph. I'm thinking it must be bad, so I put the old #2 unit back in after cleaning and oiling and it won't get above 30 either. Now I'm thinking that the cable must be the culprit, even though it is new and greased. Is it possible that the end might be loose and not staked properly, allowing it to slip at a certain rpm? Am planning on pulling the cable this afternoon. Have to go shopping first and will pick up a universal cable repair from my FLAPS. Any ideas or comments? This is driving me crazy! | | |
