I believe that I have painted trim. My truck is a late 51.
1951 Deluxe Cab This truck has the corner windows and there was a white stripe painted on the beltline. The Chevy dealer painted the top of the cab white over top of the pinstripe, but it is now fading and the stripe can be seen. Anyhow, due to the Korean war, they began deleting the shiny stuff. The knobs on my door cranks were still chrome, but the wiper knob on top of the dash is plastic. The trim on the dash is entirely painted and not stainless. So I expect that is why I have the painted strips around the window openings. I would be interested in finding stainless when I get to that stage.
