I understand the principal because back in the 60s I drove a Chevy pick-up as part of my job and I used to see how well I could shift gears without the clutch. I don't recall driving all over town without using the clutch but I do remember getting to the point where I could do it without much problem.
I think I'll just rebuild my transmission... at this stage of my life that's an idea I can live with.
