i just spliced the frame on my 53 chev 3100. i put a new front section on from about the front cab mount forward. do a angle cut about 33 degres so that you have more weld surface and a stronger joint. then at least do a fish plate with no square corners. boxing your splice would be good. i have pics on photobucket.com under justin53chev
