You should be able to turn the crankshaft by grasping the counterweights with a a bit of drag before the rods are in.If you roll the seal into the register in the block and cap very well and trim the excess with a very sharp blade it should work.A deep impact socket is usually a good roller,provided it has a smooth outside.Mind you I had a leak or two on my first ones,they were on Continentals in lift trucks,no fun to pull out and fix.
