Was able to get a little more info from the wrecker this weekend. Did some research on those engines also. The first thing I looked for was the captains bars above the starter that is on the 261's. Sure enough there they were. Then I was able to get the casting number cleaned off to see 3769717 which confirms a 261.
Also looked at the cab mounts. The mounts are stock but pieces of a tire were used to isolate the cab from the frame. So from the info that you guys have furnished I'm thinking that it is a '62 truck with a GMC cab switched out for some reason.
