Fleetside, with the stock distributor Hotrod has the right approach. It should probably be done on a distributor machine. There is another option and it would take some research. That distributor was used from 1963 till 1974 when the HEI replaced it. During that time there a lot changes made for emission control. See if you can find some Delco or factory info as to what springs were available. By the time you have the info hopefully you will have your motor further along and you can ask some more questions. When you advance a motor that tends to lean it out. You lean a motor out to far and serious damage can be done.
