For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 102 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2006 Posts: 102 | Thanks for the advice. I bought a sending unit for a 54 pickup which is not configured to fit the panel tank. I cut the pickup tube above the float mechanism and used standard compression fittings to reconnect and to turn the unit 180 degrees so that it would fit correctly. I then used my original as a template to bend the pick up tube and float to the correct depth. It worked great and I get a good gauge reading. Thanks again Tom and Tim
All the best, Ted
