#37050 02/27/2004 6:17 PM | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 18 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 18 | I am at the starting stage of rebuilding an old 292 from a 1962 GMC stake truck. I'm trying to identify what year the engine is.
According to the steel VIN tag on the door of the truck the Engine number is: G34068
Now on the registartion card from the licence office, it lists the engine code as: C54088.
I have assumed it is a replacement engine since the 292's were't available until 1963.
If anyone can let me know where I can determine the year of this engine, let me know.
