My father was working for a Chevrolet Dealership in 1950 and bought a new Chevrolet and installed one of the filters that mounts to the block and does not requre any oil lines. The filter was avialable from the dealerships parts department.
But I don't know if it was a genune Chevrolet accessory.
I had one on a engine I put in one of my projects a while back but I don't recall any name on it. I should have kept that filter, there nice in that you don't have the worry of a oil line breaking. I had that happen once. Fortunatly the oil was going on to the exhaust pipe and the smoke caught my attention.
