Over the last 4 months I've had this carb apart three or four times. Before I calibrate it with a hammer I thought I would ask for some advice. It is a manual choke on a 265 V8. I first took it apart and put in a new kit. But that doesn't include a power valve or float, so those are not new. Next I bought a gallon of cleaner and tore it apart and soaked overnight. I have read volumes of post here and tried most of the suggestions but maybe I'm missing something so here are the exact symptoms. It idles great. It appears that the float bowl is emptying after sitting for a few days. Have to choke it and pump like hell to get it started when cold. On hard acceleration it bogs down, if you go slow it works ok. When hot its harder to start like its flooded, you have to hold the pedal to the floor and crank for a minute or so. The shafts do have some slop, and I don't have a vaccume gague. I don't want to waste any more money on it, if this is a loosing battle. Thanks for any suggestions.
