Hy Tim Dyer, your truck should have 5 bolt Motor wheels on it, Motor wheels use a special nut with a large swivel washer for attachment. Most of my Motor wheels are the three piece type, that is main wheel, outer flange, and lock ring, these should be no problem for any reputable tire shop. The wheels should be disassembled, cleaned and inspected for wear and damage, if they check okay they can be painted and reassembled. So if you have the two piece type, which is a little tricky to disassemble/assemble then I can understand the tire shops reluctance, most of their staff have probably never worked on them. If you need to look for other wheels, you're looking for 5 hole Motor wheels, 5 holes on an 8" circle, but the holes are NOT beveled as Budd wheels are. I wiil go out and measure the center hole and stud size and get back to you on that, hope that helps.
