I pulled the insulation from the black cardboard cover and fashioned it to fit snuggly and properly to the firewall. I then installed the black cardbord firewall cover, by carefully trimming and gently persuading it to fit properly and thoroughly. Some of these aftermarket firewall covers may be better than others, however, none fit as nicely as the factory firewall covers. Good luck with your project.
