Does an O2 sensor measure actual oxygen in the exhaust mixture, or does it measure heat, assuming that the more oxygen means more heat. Reason for asking: on initial start-up, the engine blew a lot of raw oil out of the exhausts which seeped in apparently from an open valve cover. Every thing works ok now after warm up. Did the O2 sensor get clogged or damaged ?
