As you know from my previous post, I'm having trouble getting my Offy 2x1 setup to work on my 57 235. I have a few questions that may help me understand this thing a little more:

1. It seems that there's a lot of 'extra' work that needs to be done to make the Rochester 'B' carb work with this intake. What's a better 'bolt on' solution? Is there one with an electronic choke?

2. I'm using the Rochester 1bbls that I bought from Langdon's with the intake. The truck will not start unless I shoot starting fluid in them. With the starting fluid, the truck will start. She's a little cold blooded but she'll keep going if you play with the choke. Unless the engine is up to operating temperature, she won't start after I shutdown unless I use starting fluid again. After she's up to temperature, she acts normally except the hesitation on acceleration.

3. If the hot water to the intake is supposed to help atomize the fuel; what does this until the water starts to heat? It seems that when I need the heat the most, the water is cold. Is it better to run exhaust from the headers up to the intake? Someone sent me a document about using copper tube for this. Will it survive that header heat?

4. Can someone post a picture that shows the water setup that looks neat?

5. What are you using to seal the plate added to the bottom of the intake for water? for exhaust?

6. I added a double pumper fuel pump with this modification. Did I need to do something else? Do I need more pressure? What pressure should I have to each carb?
