Not to but in, but the neg cable on the battery gets grounded to the grill support panel. The pos cable connects to the starter, but also has a small wire that runs across the grill support panel and comes out at the voltage regulator and connects to what looks like the horn relay. Hope this helps, I own 2 1966 Chevy trucks. If you have all new wire harnesses and new battery cables, then you do not have to worry about this wire, everything will work fine.
