Well its late in the evening and I am doing what I do most evenings after the kid goes to bed....Dreaming of getting my Rat on the road.
Anyway, Im 100% new to this sight as of today and so far I am liking what I see. I cant wait to yank my original 1958 stovebolt from between the rusty rails of her pickup chassis and rebuild it to run another day.
As of today the motor is mud and rust covered and I havent even so much as searched for a serial number yet (Still reworking the cab) But from what I can see, and from the little that I know about the motor, it looks to be "mostly" complete. Carb down.
Im a Diesel Mechanic by trade, and, from using the search button as recommended by Forum, I have found multiple postings about the need to heat the inlet manifold on "our" stovebolts.
Is this all stovebolts? Will my 58 truck stovebolt fall under this requirement? Is it already plumbed factory? What are the benefits here, Im from the "Cold air kicks hot airs [censored]" thought group.
Ahh, I feel my Stovebolt training is about to begin the hardway! Thankx for any help guys, cant wait to be an honest member of the stovebolt family!
