This has turned out to be the most useful site!! I have already had offers of parts in response to my 'Wanted' post. Now I need some info, please:
I have a '62 Chevy 261 and a '50s 270 en route. 1) I have a '50s bellhousing to mate to the 261 to fit my 1949 Panel...will the 261 flywheel be compatible with a 1949 clutch plate and disc? 2)The 270 came from a military truck that had a hydramatic 4wd setup, so I don't think it will arrive with a flywheel or bellhousing. What possible sources do I have for a flywheel to fit my GMC 270? Will a Chevy 216 bellhousing fit the GMC 270?
