The fuel gauge in my truck (1970 C10) recently stopped working. When I first noticed a problem, the gauge would fluctuate from empty to full or anywhere in between. This was with the truck parked in the yard with the engine running. I was having a problem with trash from the old fuel tank clogging up the fuel filter and gunking up the carb so I decided to buy a new tank and sending unit. I figured the new sending unit would solve the fuel gauge problem but it hasn't. Now the gauge doesn't move off of the empty mark.

What do I need to do to get the gauge to work again?
