Had one do that, tried everything,finnally I had the valve cover off to adjust the valves and found that when I held my finger on the side of the valvespring when running it would run smooth as silk.well the valveguide was worn so the valve wasn't seating.My neighbor was there and wanted the car for awhile so I sold it to him.He fixed er up and may still be running it.
