After all these years, finally rebuilt my first speedometer/odometer. Turned out great, even placed the numbers on the odometer in the right place! This may be a silly question, but I don't recall seeing it asked before; when placing the new speedometer needle in place, is there a certain direction it should point? example: flat across, angled up slightly torwards 0 ? This is an early 47' Art Deco Chevy. Since there were no numbers at all left on the odometer wheels, My thought was to set the odometer at zero miles, and when I go to the revenue office, would I say 100,000 miles? Sounds scary, but I have no idea of the actual milage. Thanks!
