They called them a integral head if I remember correct. My Dad had a couple of them for work trucks and what I remember is they worked ok. We put dual exhaust on one of them, sounded good but didn't change performance or economy at all. I remember putting a head gasket in a few integral head motors years ago. Lots of vacuum hoses and emissions stuff on them.
