I don't know where in the government the problem is, but this is starting to sound like communism, or as joe5757 said, it's socialism. Isn't the reason we came to America was to get away from government control. In my school's social studies book they gave me, the definition for a free enterprise system(what we have)is people can start or own a business(and do other things like painting) with limited government intervention. Now it seems like the government is doing things for us and we have limited intervention.
Now, I think that painting yourself is fine. If the government would say that we have to use safer paints, that would be reasonable. If they say that we have to stop putting chemicals into the environment, they should too AND stop poisoning us with chemicals in food. I found that some of the food I have has sodium nitrate, which is a chemical used in explosives.
