The 455 should be good for 5600 rpm tops if you put ARP bolts in the stock rods. The motor is tougher than people lead on. Very very powerful little engines. Bump compression up to 9.5:1, cam it interesting, and you will do endless burnouts for blocks and blocks.

I think you will need to use a BOP (Buick Olds Pontiac) style bellhousing, and probably either a TH400 or a M21 or M22 Muncie behind it.
