The 6.0 trucks, GTO's and Corvettes move many of the accessories toward the top of the engine. We run into these issues installing superchargers and turbo's on the LS engines all the time. The nice thing is their interchangability. I'm converting a 2nd Gen Camaro to an LS1 and run into some of the same issues. The engines respond well to cam and head swaps and with a little computer dyno tuning you are well into the 400+ HP clubs. My son drives an 01 SS with a stroker producing over 550 to the rear wheels and gets 20+ MPG on the open road. You'll like it when you do it.
