Big pipe fittings are a good sign. The only stovebolt that had that from the factory is the 261. A few blocks may have them but from the factory they are 1/2" for full flow oiling, so don't bypass that filter. You need to get the block casting numbers from behind the starter. You can also look for the captain's bars above it. Also look for a short pushrod cover (indicates 235/261) You can also try the head casting numbers.
