I need a little help. I haven't posted in a while, but now I'm beginning to restore my '51 1/2 ton. I want to pull the 3 speed trans, and I have followed the directions in the manual BUT it looks like there is not enough room to pull it back without hitting the universal ball. I slid it back on the prop shaft, but I'm not sure that it's all the way back. Can I persuade it a little with a block of wood and a hammer? How far should it go back? I do have it jacked up as far as it will go. How far out back does the transmission move to clear the clutch disc?
Any help would be great.
