I have a '51 Chev 1/2 ton pickup...and I had my speedometer recalibrated at Scott's Speedometer Service in Pontiac Michigan. They didn't touch the odometer part. Just the Speedo. This was about a year ago. But I just installed the new decals that I bought from Classic Parts (Chevy Duty). When I installed the decals, I took out the odometer and gently turned and reset the numbers on the wheel...all back to zero. I started up my truck about a month ago and it now reads: 2-miles on the odometer. But I think that the wheels or one of them was turned, as the drive line was...and thats why is registered at 2-miles. And I ran it for 45-minutes, idling...in neutral. But the rear wheel do tend to turn. My truck is in a garage, and blocked up off the wheels. And it has a 350 small block in it with a (M-21) Muncie 4-speed. I kind of freaked, but I just thought and figured thats what it was...that gave me that 2-mile reading on the odometer. Also wanted to say that my truck sits up on blocks in the garage. And has for quite sometime now. Just wanted to share my thoughts.
