I really like those rails. I have planned on doing the same thing. I think I'll use teak for mine. I believe they will hold up a little better than cedar. They may be equal to cedar in resisting bugs water etc. but I think their a little harder. BTW petmil54 FYI the cedar left untreated will turn grey. You may want that shade but then again you may want to stain them to hold a color.
