I painted the interior around the rear windows this way this summer and also did the dash just to see what its like. (I eventually put leather over entire the dash, (which is another story but so far exceeds everything I was hoping for)
This worked great, I am going to try the tailgate which has some rust and needs to be repainted anyhow and if it looks good after the winter, I may try to decide to do the whole thing. The key is patience and prep...
